After a grueling 15 Months of Paperwork, Skills Assessments and other Exams, today we finally got our 189 Visa Granted!!!!!



Couldn't of done it without this forum and the kind people who helped me on the way.

Now for some flights to validate our visa and for some recon,

Wow congratulations!!!! 15 months though?? Does it really take that long?? I'd love some advice, we are just starting with our 189 through a migration agent. My partner and I are both nurses and am wondering when to start the additional nursing registration process! It's so stressful bet your so relieved it finally done!!!!! Where are you heading?

From the start to the grant has roughly been 15 months. I am an electrician and had to get my skills verified by Vetassess which has been a fairly long process. Throw in the EOI wait, IELTS, Medicals, Police Checks, then the wait on the grant the time spent on the visa application soon mounts up. The visa is for Myself (Main Applicant), my wife and 3 kids and we will be heading to Perth. My eldest daughter is in her last year of primary school so we don't intend on leaving before this school term is over. We will head out in July to validate our visas and also look into schools, work etc. We are lucky really as we have family in Padbury Perth so they can do alot for us also.

Good luck with your visa application. It is a long roller coaster ahead of you, but when you finally get the visa grant its when you realise ALL THE HARD WORK HAS PAID OFF!!!

That's fantastic!! Wishing you all the best in your new life down under. I know it's going to be a long (stressful) year but it will definitely be worth it :-D
