Re: 189 visa applications lodged December 2012
Hi All,
I have just received an email stating that I have been assigned a C/O. Just in case you guys are wondering how long it took for a CO to be assigned, I lodged my application on 5th Jan 2013 and CO is assigned on 26 Feb 2013 .
He has asked me to provide some basic documents, but I am facing a little glitch.
I have been asked to submit Evidence of overseas work experience, in which I have to submit payslips and taxation documents for each employer. My 3 years of work experience constitutes under 3 different employers. I am able to provide payslips for 2 of them only.
I am unable to provide pay slips and taxation documents for 1st employer, because I am in no contact with that employer, however, I can provide an experience letter. Please advice if this is acceptable? if not what would be the way around?
In case of other 2nd employer I can provide payslips which will mention my tax deduction.
For 3rd employer, I can provide payslips, but I worked in middle east so there will be no tax deduction shown. Please advice ?
Looking forward to a quick response. I can email and ask the same from my CO but I am not too sure if I should do that or not.

For Employer 3 if you can supply payslips I would just go for those.
For what it's worth I don't think DIAC is interested in how much tax you have paid, just that perhaps tax statements are more reliable (maybe?) forms of proof that you have been employed for the period you claimed.

For Employer 1 I would see if you have any bank statements during that period that you worked showing deposits from Employer 1. I submitted a series of bank statements showing clearly 'Employer 1 - Salary' deposits when I could not find payslips. I submitted an letter as well as part of the initial submission of documents but was asked to supply further info.
For Employer 3 if you can supply payslips I would just go for those.

Many thanks for your detailed reply.
I can provide my payslips as well as bank statements for 2nd and 3rd employer.
But for first employer I am not sure if I be able to provide bank statements either. I worked with that employer in 2005 and I can only provide experience letters and references. Please help me out.

If you can only supply letters and references then that's all you can supply... you can always submit whatever documents and let your CO determine if that is sufficient.
Somehow I managed to dig up tax returns from 2004 (the bank that I was with was one of the American ones that went bankrupt during the GFC!), but yeah going back that far is tough... good luck!

Depending on the country you worked in, could you request a tax statement from that financial year (although, 2004 may be a bit too long ago).

Thanks for a comforting reply. You totally understand my situation. I have come this far and I dont want to spoil my application just by this bit.
Yes, You are right. Its almost impossible for me to go back and get any thing from 2005. (I only stayed at that job for 6 months)
Rest of the 2 and half year experience, I am able to provide everything. Bank statements, payslips and experience letters.
I have just dropped an email to my CO..stating the same. Lets see what the reply is.
Keeping my fingers crossed.

Re: 189 visa applications lodged December 2012
Hi,
I have managed to find another experience letter of mine with pay slips and bank statements to replace the one I am currently having problems with.
Is it possible that I replace my old experience letter with the newly found one ?

Hi, we just received our visa grant. Finally!!!
We lodged our EOI in July, were invited in October, CO in November, Documents loaded before Xmas. There seems to have been a couple if errors with the last couple if docs we uploaded but I emailed them over yesterday and we received our visa grant 24 hours later.
Good luck everyone else.

The immi site says CO allocation should be within 10 weeks of lodgement - it's possible that you have a CO but they haven't made contact yet as they are checking through your application.
If you lodged this application yourself, do you have the number to check progress online? If with an agent, what do they say?
