Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. I am about to apply for a RSMS 187 visa and for the nomination i have to prove that the vacancy cant be filled by an Australian citizen or a permanent resident.

My question is this, does anyone know or can anyone point me in the right direction of how long my employer will need to advertise the position for?

I think you would be best to use a MARA agent - there's some advice on the skill select site (http://www.immi.gov.au/Visas/Pages/187.aspx) but professional advice for you and your employer would be the better option.

Thanks for the link and the reply. We have decided to do it ourselves as it is very costly for an agent so we're just trying to piece everything together.

It is expensive but so is a failed application. Might be worth getting initial advice on what steps you need to do - and then again before submitting everything to keep costs down - but I would at least have an initial consult so you know if it's possible to do it yourselves or not

Speak to a recruitment agency, we used one for our RCB application, they were very helpful and backed up the application with a statement.

Which state are you looking at?
