Sorry should have read it. didn't know the visa was granted. But our CO asked for a stat dec as my 17 year old lives with his dad and it only cost a five so it was no hardship.

Case officers don't always understand the rules they are supposed to administer. If the parent had not co-operated you would have needed to show it was not legally necessary.
