Default 176 visa Australian Health Insurance

Hi Guys

We are very close to getting the visa and wondered if we are covered by the reciprocal agreement with the UK or wether we have to take out health insurance...Thanks in advance for any replies!!

You will be eligile for medicare on a 176 visa. You can top it up with private insurance if you want and if you earn over a certain amount it makes financial sense to do so, otherwise you pay a surcharge that will be more than the cost of private insurance.
