Question 175, work experience verification.

Hi,
I’ve applied for Australian immigration in Aug’09 through online. In Nov’09, case officer has been assigned to me and he asked me to submit form 80 which I’d filled and submitted in first week of Dec’09. Since then, whenever I check the status online its showing “Met” against each of the document which I’d submitted, except work experience where in “Further checking required” is appearing. However, they had already approached to my current employer 2 months back in Nov’09 and got the positive result. Now, I’m wondering why this status is coming.
Can some body let me know why it is taking too much time or it’s a norm?

Dont worry. They have other ways of checking also. Normally VFS do this.

Thanks Najah. Please do let me know what is VFS? Additionally, do they check with my previous employers. If yes, my previuos 2 employers no more exist. Will it effect my case?

Dear,
infact they do contact with previous employers. VFS is an agency used to do the verification work for Australian visa in some countries. Normally they go by their own and call supervisor and employer to cross check. In my case my HR sent them a 3 page long report for crosschecking.

Najjah - thanks for your reply.
One last query. If they will not be able to find any response from my previous employers becasue they are no more in business, will it effect on my case?

Normally they will verify with current employer

Dont worry if they dont reach your employer case officer will ask for latest work numbers

You can even send the latest work number for all your employment

He's not the case officer, so is unable to tell you what they ask. I would assume though that they verify the information given on your reference letter - i.e. your job title, duties, hours and length of service.
