175 Visa - Do I need to be Secondary Applicant?
Hi all,
Can anyone help? If my OH is main applicant for a 175 visa, do I need to be Secondary applicant in order to work, study etc., or will I be covered under OH?
I keep reading it on DIAC but my mind's a whirl when looking at the application form
Thanks

Kat,
I think you have got a few things confused. There is one visa application. Everyone in the family will be secondary applicants, your OH is the primary. The rights are same for everyone, Permanent Residency will allow you to work and travel, within 5 year validity and possibility to extend/apply for citizenship. Hope this helps

Thanks for reply,
Have just looked through the form again!!!!! and the penny has dropped!
I've been looking at Part D of the form where it says "only fill in this part if your spouse's skills are to be considered".
Doh!!
I suppose we would only need to fill this part in if my OH's points didn't add up and we wanted some from my skills. However, I wonder whether it would speed up the process if they know we both have skills on the MODL?
Thanks for making me look at it again and read it right this time!!

MODL does not speed things up unfortunately, having points over and above does not either. The system is fairly black and white, you are either in or out, the rest is a basic queue system. If I was in this situation, then I would only submit the paperwork necessary for decision making, less things to check for them.
