Smile 163 Visa success

To everybody going through that uncertain stage of the business skills visa. Go for it. As of 7th January this Year we obtained permanent residency, courtesy of a WA sponsored 892 Visa (incidentally we arrived on 7/1/05 - exactly 3 years). We all love it here! Not an easy route, but well worth it in the end. Good Luck!!

Well done Chsehsire Cats - didn't see you participate in the 163 thread. There are quite a few of us in Perth.

Where are you and what is your business?

Well done Cheshire Cats, we are at the beginning of the process, and frightened of getting there and not getting permanent residency! Just wondering, have you got children, and how did you fund their schooling whilst you were temporary, ie did you have to pay for state schooling?
Sorry, but just wondering! Where abouts in Perth nare you, we are looking at Duncraig, any opinions?

Hi All,
We are going on a 163, nearing the end of the long painful Visa application.
We have WA State Sponsorship and our main Visa app is in with DIAC. We've been allocated a CO (early Jan) and today went for the Meds.
I guess its just a waiting game from here.............

Good Luck all who are going down this road, It would be nice to hear about any other 163'ers out there.

Cheers
Lizzie

We applied for the permenant 892 part after 4 years (with only 1 month left on the original 163 visa) it took approx 10 weeks on 22nd December 2008 got it after numerous emails and paperwork back and forward. We did not use an agent.
It was a stressfull 4 years and in hindsight wish we had tried an alternative visa to get in. However here we are in the system now and waiting for the day we can be citizens.

Well done! Would whole-heartedly agree about it being a bloody hard visa category.

All the best for citizenship.
