Hi I'm a bit confused, I was pretty sure that as a 136 (non modl) I needed to attend an interview with DIMIA before the decision was made over the grant but now it appears that this may not be true. Any idea?

It was in a book I've got called: Living & working in Australia by David Hampshire (page 82 if anyone else has it.) So I just presumed it was common knowledge but now it seems nobody else knows about it which is starting to make me think maybe it's not actually true. I hope it's not. Fingers crossed!

I don't think so . Things are always changing so your book is probably out of date !

Under current DIMIA policy, interviews are unusual for 136 applicants - but not unknown.

Fantastic, what a bonus, & a relief. I expected that I'd have to go through it. I think thats one of the first bits of good news that I've heard of for pre July 136 non modls. long may it continue!

I've got that book also, but apparently some stuff in there is not necessarily true...

Probably best to go with DIMIA website
