******** migration agents
Has anyone heard of ********, an agent based in London.
I paid them £99.95 early December for a full report of our eligibility to emigrate.
So far i have received nothing.
I rang them a week or so ago and asked for my money back. They refused and i still havnt received anything.
In the meantime (in view of time constaints Re; abolition of 457ie visa) we are using Go-Matilda.
I told ******** that i was taking advice from GoMatilda and they said that they had never heard of them!!
They said that it takes time to prepare a client profile...
I did however receive a message on my home answerphone from them asking which visa class i thought that i could apply under......... and i thought that they were supposed to be advising me !!!!!
Comments from anyone would be appreciated, as i would like my money back.

With respect, it can take a while to process these reports and December is not that far back.
I know myself as our company assist with overseas candidates into the UK and have done for a year now so I have knowledge of the immigration process from this end and of the time scale!
I checked out ********.co.uk, not a bad website but I notice there were no prices on there, which I don't like. If they don't quote prices then I usually stay away. One of their advisors obviously does not know their job if they are asking you those kind of questions.
"Global Visas" would have been a good first choice. www.global-visas.co.uk.
I would be interested to know if there are any developments on your eligibility report from Visa Plus.
Go Matilda - Your Gateway to Australia! How catchy is that!
They are basically on same lines as most within their industry.
But hey, lets hope you have a lot more luck and professionalism from them.
Good Luck

Emma,
Thanks for your "helpful" insight - though Global Visas doesn't have any Registered Migration Agents assisting with Australian visa applications so far as I am aware.
And please don't make facile comments about my business or what we do. If you looked at the Go Matilda website you would see that there's a lot more to what we're about than migration assistance.
Best regards.

Alan, I must apologise there was certainly no offence intended. I am sorry If my comment appeared that way.
I was just trying to point out that from a customer point of view I have seen lots of migration sites and it looked, on the surface, very similar and I only took a quick look. I also liked the catchy wording, hence my quick comment next to your slogan.
I sincerely hope that she has more success with you than the incompetent Visa Plus.
Hope I have explained it a bit better this time!

Maybe it's worth speaking at some stage about our respective businesses?

If an agent is offering an appraisal for free - as many do - then it's
perfectly ok for such appraisal to be processed at his leisure. On
the other hand, if the client is paying then he has the right to
expect a speedy response.
If the original poster used a credit card to pay for such assessment
then there may be scope to complain to the credit card company.

Not only no prices (I agree that's a bad sign), but no evidence of any
registered status in Australia. And even within the sketchy
information provided on Australian migration I detected at least two
basic mistakes.

Again, no sign of any registered status under the Australian scheme.

Well, unlike the first two outfits, Alan Collett does at post here
regularly and people can at least make up their own minds (to an
extent) about the quality of his advice. A number of registered
agents, including myself, visit this forum regularly, which does
provide an element of quality control.

I agree, if the customer has purchased using a speedy method of payment then they should have received a report by now!
www.global-visas.co.uk I agree was not a good choice on this one, Sorry all.
I only came across this forum yesterday and I am surprised It took me so long to find it. There are obviously some professionals here that know their stuff and are offering sound advice and I thinks its Great.
Best forum Ive joined for a long time. Well done!

I wanted to bring this one back to the top as i am really angry at the way ******** can take your money and give nothing in return.
I telephoned their offices again on Friday and had a heated discussion with an arrogant man.... he didnt even know that the 457IE visa class was being abolished!
He even had the cheek to say that they have to be happy with the people they take on and that i didnt seem their right choice!!!!!
i said that it works two ways and that as i had no confidence in them, then i wanted my money back.
He said that i couldnt have it back, as they would still let me have their assessment !!!!
I then asked for his Agents Registration Number..he said that they didnt have to have one to operate.
Is this right....will i get my money back.....its more a matter of principle than the money.
