Wow that was quick - Police Certificate

I still can't believe it we sent our application forms for our Police Certificate last Tuesday and we had them ready on Friday.... we thought it would take up to 40 days.... apparently the process was quick as we used the Internet link that has been set up specifically for NZ and Oz migration purposes, it can be found in the SMC Application Toolkit (NZIS site) but here is the link for anyone that is going through the same process http://www.acpo.police.uk/certificates.asp

Is all happening so quick, we are so happy ... however we are still waiting for the NZQA full assessment and my police clearance from Mexico which may also take quite some time, but hey we are getting closer :D

Thanks for the lnk - I'm sure it will be useful to many people. :)

I didn't know there was a dedicated service for potential migrants - my certificates took the full 40 days to arrive.

Be advised that there is debate in the Australian and Canadian forums over whether the ACPO certificate will be accepted by the relevent immigraton authorities. At this point it is not certain that it will be.

Thanks for the advice. I will call NZ house tomorrow to confirm it, however the link was found in the NZIS SMC Application Toolkit website, why would they recomend doing it this way:confused:

Quoted from the SMC Application Toolkit (after all this is the way we found the link)

"Specific procedure for United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

Go to the Association of Chief Police Officers website www.acpo.police.uk and click the Police Certificates Button, at the bottom left of screen. The instructions for applying for the certificate are on the form."

As its been updated on the official Immigration website I would think ACPO is good to use, the issue for Canada and Australia is that ACPO certificate was not on the official website or named as an approved document.
