Would a brain tumour prevent us from being accepted?

Hi to everyone,
This is my first post so please be patient with me.
We have been looing at emigrating to NZ and seem to meet the criteria (from our very basic look at the points system). Our question is our daughter had a benign brain tumour removed in 2007. It was totally removed with no further treatment required other than brain scans every four months. Would this prevent us from being accepted? Although it was not malignant we are aware that you will not be accepted if you pose a significant health risk. Does having a brain scan every four months count as a significant cost? Our daughter is 15 and as time goes on the scans will become less frequent.
Thanks for reading and hopefully replying.:)

hi there

not sure if this would be a problem, but I can guarrantee that they would have to send it to the medical assessor and ask for more information so be forarmed and prepared to give them every shred of information and paperwork you have relating to the condition (plus maybe a report from your doctor/specialist etc).

Good luck

Yep, I don't think it's an issue but I would get ALL documentations you have and perhaps pre-empty the questions by getting letters/reports from GP & Specialists you have previously seen.
I had kidney surgery 10yrs ago and not had one problem ever since... The doctor that carried my Medicals wants to see reports from GP/Hospital in regards to the surgery or I have to take & pay for a scan...

Good luck!

Hi,
Thanks getmethere & matewx for your replies. We are in the process of getting all the documents together so will ensure we get all the medical reports etc. and any other documents that would be required to prove the tumour was benign.
Many thanks for your kind replies.:)
