Red face Working info

Hi Guys in need of some help from you lovely souls again!!!
As you maybe well aware from previous posts we are hoping to get our EOI early Jan.
This is a question regarding my husbands work.
He is an electrician by trade but as worked as a firefighter for the last 8 years, which is a 2 days, 2 nights four off shift.
On his four days off he has continued to do his trade, which financially has helped.
What i want to understand is if we get picked from the pool and the immigration request earnings from job how can we prove it, he has been paid fully from the States of Jersey from his Firefighter job, but obviously this has been very different with regards to trade work as thats been cheques and cash.
Will they just want to see his regular income or prove pay from trade.
I hope everyone understands what i have been trying to say.
I just don't know what they would request for ITA.
Also when it comes to medicals, this as to be the most up to date does it, with being pregnant i have a lot of things done throughout 2010, would they want all new tests redone??
Thanks for help you can give me

Is he the main applicant ?
Are you applying under the skilled migrant category using Electrician ?

If so, he needs to start his registration with the NZ EWRB which is complicated , tedious, and detailed.

Yes Bev, he is the main applicant,
Do all applicants going down the ectrical route need to be on this register?
I did look at it, are there exemptions due to quals he has at all, or is this just part of the process??

I've just checked it out, he is exempt from doing the examination, but obviously just has to get the info together for empolyment and work experience, he has been an electrician since he was 17 now almost hitting 40.
when he arrives home from work we can look at all of this...Cheers Bev for your input..X

Thanks for help you can give me
The medicals have to be done by an approved panel doctor, the list is here:
http://www.immigration.govt.nz/paneldoctors/
You have to have an 'immigration medical' it can't just be a recent one by your own GP. Have a look at the forms to see what it entails but you will need new tests done I'm afraid.
The medicals have to be less than 3months old when you submit your ITA

Thanks Persephone, i can't believe how much info i have absorbed in such a short space of time, with being in Jersey, i think there isn't a panelled doc but read that there is a procedure, so we can follow that.

There is a panel doctor in St Helier and a radiologist in St Saviour. Search for Jersey on the list
http://www.immigration.govt.nz/templ...=Guest&level=1

I can only get the link to send you to the main list but put Jersey in the search box and it will bring up the doctor

A stumbling block to watch for in the medical is the BMI (Body Mass Index) At the time I took it they insisted on no higher than 29. Mine was 31 and so I had to pay another £300 to see a so called specialist who patronised me for 30 minutes and evenyually passed me as fit. Seeing your OH is a firefighter I don't suppose this will be a problem for you but it's worth knowing about

Re. Electricians .

NZIS require him to be licensed. In simple terms he can only get a temporary or provisional license. He gains this through the EWRB. I think part of this is to do a Health and Safety course. I can't quite remember now. My husband is a plumber not a sparky. I believe that it is possible to take this course at NZ House , London.

I will try and find you older threads about Sparky registration . It will at least give you the usernames of those that have done this.

a thread
to start with

Guys,
Thats all amazing help.
Persephone: got that i checked and it wouldn't come up at first, played around and surprise surprise they where listed.
So thats great news and easier than having to fly to the mainland to get a medical done!!

BMI is good for both of us!!! thats a bonus.......though don't know about the rest of me i will be glad when this baby has arrived...sick of being on crutches...split pelvis from baby should all knit together when its out!!

Bevs: hubbie and i had a little look and its all doable, its understandable that you should have to do something else to get registered/licensed to work in another country!!
I cant believe how helpful everybody has been, its certainly so much to take in, its just understanding it all, getting the information and making sure that when your submitting either the EOI or ITA you have everything ready, christ the cost of migration agents are certainly V V expensive!!
I now see why everybody was saying DON'T DO IT!!!

Thanks Again Guys!!
Xx

I'd never say don't use a licensed Immy agent. They can be worth their weight in gold if a case is difficult or someone is not OK with forms and timelines. Thing with an Immy agent is just the same with everything. Make sure you get a good one that has been recommended by others ( not testimonials ) who have had a great experience. Also shop around for the price and bargain !

Be aware that with applications , those with a job offer tend to be towards the top of the NZIS pile.
