Working Holiday Visa help please
 

Hi all!

I'm currently saving up to come out to New Zealand in May on a 23 month working holiday visa and am looking for as much info as possible. I can't wait to get myself out there but I want to make sure I'm going into this with my eyes open.

It seems to be quite difficult to get all the info on WHV's without phoning a premium rate immigration helpline or paying to meet with an adviser.

The main things I'm looking for more info on are:
How long does it take to obtain a WHV?
How much money do realistically need to do it?
What are the rules on working?

Any other info that anybody would be able to provide would also be much appreciated.

Hey mate, I thought I would input some first hand knowledge! basically I tried to do it first hand with know immigrationg agency but this gets you basically through to the visabureau.com .. so what i would recommend calling them up, happens over the phone, cost about 150 quid I think, although for 23 mth you will need a medical.. through a new zealand panel doctor ..(con) which is basically a blood test and an xray but willl cost you about £400 nicker... once you get the results from that your all good.... took me about 6 weeks, mainly because my nearest panel doctor was away for 3 of them..

Thanks Spoony, exactly the kind of info I was looking for when I posted this thread :)

I knew I'd need a medical, but didn't realize it would cost that much. Which is why I'm trying to find these things out now so that I have time to save up any extra I need.
