Working Holiday Visa - Essential Skills Visa

Hi everyone,

Hoping I can find advise on here from people who have been in similar situations to me / anyone who is also in the same process.

I'm 23 years old, currently half way through my Working Holiday Visa here in NZ. I'm working for a container shipping organisation in their logistics department in Auckland and I'm wanting to extend my stay here, I've been looking into the Essential Skills visa. The company have said they would perhaps support me by offering me a full time contract but I'm aware there may be a few issues.

1) logistics clerks are skill level 4 ANZCO and I would have to earn more than $48K for my application to be successful - although I'm not sure if the government over here are going ahead with this as of last week...?

2) I have little experience in Logistics prior to my current job - does prior experience have a big impact on the application?

3) the company I work for are not on the Accredited Employers List ( see link below ) does this mean they would not be able to help me out at all?

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated !

Thanks

THe company will have to prove to NZIS and the NZ Dept of Labour that there is no resident or citizen that could do that work or be trained for that work.

A labour market test will be applied.

If they have been advertising this position with/without training to no avail then you might be in with a shot. However, it would also need to pay the 'going rate' . .
