My OH has a job offer and needs to obtain a 12 month work visa.
Can you get them on the same day (obviously if there are no queries with app) if you use their counter service at the London office? Or is this just extremely wishful thinking?!!

I don't think you can get them same day but mine only took 3 days.

In 2004 our temp work visas took 10 days to come through & I delivered them myself to NZ House in London. I think the time lapse is in the verification and checking of the job offer and the relevant quallies.

ok thanks - did you wait until you had the visas until you booked the flights? I am tempted to book the flights before we get them as our timescales are very tight and flights are getting more expensive the closer we get to D day.
