Default Work to residence visa - start date?

Hi.

My husband and I are hoping to apply for our temp work visas soon. As he's on the LTSSL, he can go for a work to residence one, which will be granted for up to 30 months.

Just wondering when they best time to apply is - we are hoping to go in January (hoping for a job offer before then!). Do the visas come with a start date?

i.e. if we applied in november, are we losing out on 2 months of the 30 months by being here, or does it start when you enter the country?

This was 3 years ago but from memory

1: You send the job offer letter for a WTR visa. Once a company has offered you the job, they then have to provide an offer letter to satisfy INZ requirements
2: Also in this letter, they have to reason why they're offering the job to hubby instead of to a Kiwi. This is standard I think for LTSSL visas. I came on an accredited and they needed a certificate
3: You will have an entry date from the month given.

Don't apply until you have the offer.

Yep sounds the same we just came through accrediated route. The visa is activated when you enter the country. We got ours 8th June and need to be in the country by 11th September. So 3 months. It took 3 days to process visa. I don't know if yours will be the same x
