When to sort your visa??

Hi Folks

My question is this.

Is it recommended to sort out your visa before you come?

I know it seems a bit obvious, but I have a kiwi wife who I have been married to for over 3 years now.

Her mum lives in Napier and apparently there is an office in Palmerston where a friend of ours managed to get his visa sorted out on the same day at this office.

Would i be okay taking marriage certs, birth certs, evidence etc over with me and getting it over and done with in one day?

Or am I being a fool?

Any advice much appreciated

Take care

Jamie

Turning up as a tourist with a plan to stay longer is asking for trouble. Get the right visa before you leave.

If your kiwi wife isn't also a British citizen, then it's strongly recommended to sort out her British citizenship (by naturalisation) before she leaves the UK.

My wifes visa has ran out. They have told her she needs to go back to NZ to re-apply for her UK visa, which we just cant afford.

With regards to sorting the visa out pre-leaving, I think thats the common sense approach. much appreciated.
