Felt that I needed a reason to email NZ house so stressed that we had childcare places and need to pay deposits to secure (which we actually do). If we didn't we would have no idea when we would be able to start our jobs or when places would again be available because of waiting lists. Basically stressed that I was looking for reassurance that we weren't throwing money down the pan....got back the standard admin response re: 1 - 3 months!
Don't know whether this worked but have a sneaky suspicion that admin then forwarded the email to our case officer (trying to get their name was impossible!) as our case officer emailed us only hours later.
Anyway, bottom line is try to find a reason to email (that doesn't involve travel plans) as it may just help
