wage level

Hi all
Since I last wrote I have had an employer from Auckland in contact that is talking about an offer of employment....Yippeeee!!!
He has offered an hourly rate of $27 with after hours call outs at $75.
I am a gas engineer by the way....is this a realistic wage?
All input gratefully received.

Re: wage level

Hi! Congratulations on the job offer!
My OH has just had a job offer of $21.60 an hour and after talking to some of our friends already living in New Zealand they say that this is a good wage! I will (hopefully) also be working and we dont have any kids so we will be fine with this amount of money coming in! I guess it depends on whether you have kids or a partner and also where you are going to be living - but that seems like a good wage to me! Good luck - whatever you decide to do!

Re: wage level

Whether it is a good wage depends on where in NZ you will be living.

Will $27 be OK in auckland?

Re: wage level

That's a pretty good wage in NZ. The min wage is around $12 per hour so that will give you an idea.
