Visa with job offer. How long? + Options
 

Following on from my other thread I have had a telephone interview that went rather well and the company that I applied to are pushing me for a time scale for a move:eek:

Could anyone tell me how long the visa process takes with a job offer from start to finish and also what visa I should be going for (work visa, work to residency visa)?

Desperately trying to swot up on immigration rules:confused:

Any thoughts are VERY welcome.

Im confused with all the options!!! We are applying under the skilled section, would I get WTR or what??!! :o
I'm really showing my 'blondeness' during this whole process....:D

hi , we me husband two kids went over on a talent visa ( this keeps you with the employer you go out with) our main delay was actually getting in with one of the few places allowed to perform medicals for immigration other than that 8/10 weeks maximum. visa issued in a week we went to NZ house personally which was a great experience as you kind of felt already there Maori carvings and the Kiwi newspapers. If you job is on the shortage list you can register immediately on EOI with points for residency ( we were pulled out on the first wave but due to ME losing the kids birth certificates ran out of time:ohmy:
so we waited for two years you can then apply with the right as you have done your time:thumbsup: but your medicals and police checks are out of date so you need all that again but again speedy process when everything was logged.

send off for the police reports now they take a month to come through.....good luck:):):)

8-10weeks. Wow.
I'd not considered a talent visa.
My skill isn't on the shortage list but the employment is creative and is on the "future growth" one.
