Visa Help Please

Hi all
I am a newbie to this site and it is great with so much information and guidance.
This is my first post as I need some answers if anyone can help.
I have been offered a job in NZ on a 2 year working visa in the construction industry by an accredited visa company.
I will be going out there on my own to start with to get settled then my with and 3 children would be following me over after a month or so. The only issue is that one of my children is adopted with FASD and I am worried my dream could be over before I start my NZ journey as the immigration would reject my sons visa application because of this, He is 2 year old and in nursery and doing really well but the health specialists have no idea what the future will hold at the moment due to his age.
Does anyone on this forum have any knowledge or contacts for me to seek if this move is viable? :fingerscrossed:

Welcome

As FASD can cover a multitude of issues you would be best advised to check through the ops manual as to what relates to good health.

also maybe an email to Lane Neave to see if she has had issues like this before

Congatulations.
First of all I'd check whether or not you'll be able to uplift a visa for the job offer. A company offering you the job can't guarantee you a visa or stipulate which visa you'll be getting as it's nothing to do with them. The visa application is your responsibility and they are approved or not for the individual. The company can guide you and offer assistance with the visa process and even point you down the path they think is correct but thats about as much as they can do. If you are to be formally advised then the advisor must be approved by Immigration to give Immigration advice AND their details added on to the application so Immigration liaise through them directly instead of you.
There has also been some changes applied to temporary work visa rules with the introduction of salary thresholds so family may not qualify anyway for a visa based on partnership or dependency. I'd make sure you can line all those ducks up in a row and everyone can get a visa before trying to find out if your child will be classed as having an acceptable standard of health. If your child needs a medical report then it most definitely will be handed to a Medical Assessor to make a decision on whether or not your child has an acceptable standard of health....it basically all comes down to risk and money and the cost to the NZ Health System whilst the child is here in NZ.

Re: Visa Help Please

Thank you both for the reply.
Yes the company in question stated they would get me in on a talent work visa as they are accredited company but that's about it so I think your correct it is down to the immigration to decide if I can get in or not, If I did apply through the talent work visa then I would have to apply separate for my wife and children so would be a kick in the teeth if one of us couldn't get in!
I have contacted Lane Neave and just awaiting a reply.
I also sent my CV to another company in NZ who are advertising works and they are in the UK next week at a seminar and would love to catch up with me so that is promising also as looking at peoples posts and reply on this forum the money being offered by the first company looks like it may be a tight budget to live and work in NZ.
