Which Visa
Hi, another newbie haha.
I wonder if i could get some advice on which visa would be my best option for working and living in NZ.
We both currently live in England, my wife is on an ancestry visa and should get ILR when it runs out, however, we are looking into the option of both of us going to NZ and buying a home there together.
I am a chef by trade and would be looking to carry on in this trade in NZ, my job is on the skilled migrants list, so i could go for that visa, but i can also get a visa via my wife but this only allows me to work for up to 2 years. If i'm honest, the NZ immigration website is confusing me.
I would like a visa that allows me to live in NZ with my wife and work, without renewing after 2 years and i'm sure i found the correct one when looking a few weeks ago, but now i can't seem to find it.
Could somebody with the correct knowledge point me in the right direction as to which would be the best visa for me.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Which Visa
if you wife is entitled to live and work in NZ it may be best to go on her application.
most permanent visa's require you to renew (remove travel conditions) after 2 years so I am afraid you can't escape that.

But my wife doesn't need to apply as she's already a citizen of NZ.

Re: Which Visa
If I were you I would probably try for a work visa as these are quick and easy to get if you have a job offer already in. That means you get to NZ and have time to work on a residency visa application while already there and working which makes residency a LOT less of a headache.
I don't know anything about partnership visas other than they require A LOT of proof of relationship in addition to the paperwork already involved in any visa application.
