truck driver thinking about coming to auckland

Default truck driver thinking about coming to auckland

hi,im 35 yrs old with class 1 license and 5 yrs experience.
in june next year i was thinking of coming over to try to find work of a while.
last year i looked and it was buzzing ,but this year its not looking so good?
i just wondered if any 1 there had any advice? cheers,

hi as work is hard to find for truckers, maybe you should have a few weeks hoilday, and take road train test in oz or same in nz and go from thereavg truck drivers they dont reaily want to know unless your from southern hemishere

hi,thanks for your reply,

so im guess that is not like it was a year ago then.when i looked before its was rife with jobs. what is the road train test? does it cost alot? il not just come for a holiday as it is a huge cost to fly there again.

when i was there in 07, we stayed for seven months the concrete mixer drivers were on $14 an hour crap i know but i was only on $21
dont think its got much better
if you look on nz trasport web site you should find every thing you need ,to have to drive there trucks
dont forget most are kenworths macks ect lots of changeing gears
i had an old ford that i was driveing 25 years ago in uk, but to them that was a good truck, you could spin gear stick around in a circle sure you know what i mean
but it will be easyer to get a job if you can start off with the right licence
