Hi Everyone

I'm very concerned about how we get our money from the UK to NZ sensibly?
We were thinking of taking a smaller amount with us as daily cash. Once we there with bank accounts activated and the exchange rate (hopefully) at a better rate, we were then going to transfer the larger amount using Halo Finance.

Is it a good idea not to transfer money across before leaving the UK?

Has anyone had experience with this?

Last Monday I went to a IT recruitment seminar in London, there was a representative from Halo Finance there. She said that it was easy to do the transfer while still in the UK?

I think it was down to time difference and the fact they had UK offices and were trading at UK time.

I used Halo both in the UK and in New Zealand, it was easy. I had some problems with administering my UK bank account after arriving in NZ, and Halo were great about that too, as it caused some unexpected delays which they dealt with quite happily.
