Tourist visa question

Hi all,

My Irish parents who have lived in the UK most of their life are coming to NZ for their 4th visit. They both have Irish passports - this means they can only stay for a maximum of 90 days. Guess what I did.................booked them to come over for about 120 days:whatchutalkingabout

I only realised by accident that Irish passport holders only get 90 days max as opposed to brits who get upto 6 months.

Half the problem should be ok as my dad looks like he can get a brit passport as he was born in ireland before 1949. My mum was born in 1950....and has just had her application spat back to her minus the fee. It looks like the only way she can get the passport is by citizenship through naturalisation = 672 quid . Not a viable option

So am I right in saying the folk at Manchester airport wouldnt let her on the plane as she'd have a visa that was about 3 weeks short of the return flight dates?

secondly, is it possible /allowed for someone to , for example fly to melbourne for the weekend and then be reissued with another 3 month visitor visa?

If thats the case would all be well if she turns up at manchester airport with her extra flight itinerary as proof of intention to leave NZ?

Hope you can shed some light people.

PS is it just me or is there a problem getting on the NZ immigration website?

I would get them to apply for a visitor's visa if they have time to before they fly. They will then be granted the 120 (or whatever) days on arrival.

There is some medical requirements if they stay six months or longer, xrays etc.

It used to be really easy to extend a visitor's visa, just pay a fee and do it online. But it looks like that have removed that facility.
