Total number of years work experience in an area of absolute skills shortage

In EOI Application EOI -
G5. Please indicate the total number of years work experience in an area of absolute skills shortage.

I have Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics & Telecommunication and more than 8 years experience as Software Engineer.

I read the LTSSL many times, but could not interpret whether I can claim points on G5 - any input is appreciated.

Thank you
Joshua

I believe you need would need to prove the number of years of work experience in a paid working environment and I believe it has to be full time work and I also believe in a comparable market

It doesn't have to be in a comparable labour market if you are on the LTSSL or work for a multinational company.
If work is not full-time (30 hrs per week) then the number of years is based on hours worked.
Eg 4yrs work at 15hrs per week = 2yrs work experience

India is not a comparable labour market so you need to be either on the LTSSL or have worked for a multinational to be able to claim any points for work experience as well as points for WE in an area of absolute shortage.

I think you need to get your degree assessed, is that right? If so then it may come back as comparable to one on the LTSSL. I don't know whether your degree as it stands is comparable, sorry.

Got PAR assessed - "On the information available, the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) assesses this qualification as comparable to the learning outcome of a qualification at Level 7 on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework."
