can anyone tell me whats the time needed for NZQA

The time lines mentioned at NZQA website are 35 working days for Normal processing and 20 days for Priority processing (requires additional fee) to process at their office. (But in our cases it was done before this period)

In some cases they verify documents from issuing institutions and the time required for this process is unknown.

Hi,

As per my experience, NZQA (normal processing) replied me in approx 40 days

but with some inquiry. I guess now time is expanding due to they raised inquiry

otherwise looks like they were finalize in 35 / 40 days.

The timeline on the site is not an accurate timeline. They say upto 35 working days and can take less IF the documents are all good and verifiable and FAR LONGER if not to 40-45 working days. Also you can speed up the process to about 20 working days by paying extra. An NZQA case officer should be able to respond to you in about 10-15 working days requesting you to complete a VERIFICATION process for your qualificaiton if it is not on the exemption list. This is the catch. If you don't check your postal mail or communicate with the officer via email in good time, you will waste a lot of your time there which will be several weeks. The verification process will itself take about 1-2 weeks.

So you can get the verification done quickly and you pay the extra money for expediting the process, you can get it all done in about 4 weeks.
