Thinking about starting the EOI...questions

Hello Everyone,

I have to admit firstly, that I'm normally on the Canada forum as we are going to be putting in an application for permanent residency. New Zealand has always been 2nd to Canada in terms immigration for us but recently it has been shoved into equal place!:) So I'm new in terms of trying to figure out the NZ immigration process. (Help!)

I've figured out so far (after reading your guides etc and visiting the relevant websites) that the first stage is to fill in an EOI. Depending on your score, you may be automatically chosen to apply or you wait to be selected from a pool.

I have completed the points calculator and score very highly so far (if I've understood the questions that is!). My universities are on the recognised list but my specific qualification isn't. Does this mean that either now or later I will need to get them converted and scored properly?

My skills and occupation are on the LLTS but may not fit exactly, will this be a problem? For exmaple, I was a statistician for 2 years and my masters had a large statisical content. My degree however, wasn't titled maths, it was Public Health.

Sorry for all the questions but I hope they are simple 'newbie' ones!

Thanks in advance. :D
