Hi and Welcome to BE

Right off we will need to know a bit more information. What job offer has your OH been offered and would it lead to a Permanent visa?
A temp visa would be quicker to obtain than a permanent visa and it was something we applied for as my OH's offer needed to be taken up quickly but we had already had our EOI in the system, just need the work offer to get over the magic 140 points.
Most of us on here did not use a agent as the process although looking daunting is fairly straight forward as long as you read the documents. We spoke to an agent initially but after being misinformed on certain things we did it ourselves with the help on people on here and a few calls to NZ Immigration office in the London. All the agent does is collate the information and documents you provide, using an agent does not afford you any special treatment from Immigration as it all about the points initially and then the paperwork to substantiate the points.
Also getting to know your way around Immigration NZ website would be a very good thing to start doing. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/

Have you researched the cost of moving and living in NZ.

Yes we have done lots of research I keep thinking I could do it myself after all iv collected all the documents and stuff the job offer is for a fibours plasterer and its a permanent contract that he's been given what other info do you need my thinking was to do it all temp at first and then once we are out there and have decided to stay then go for residency.
Thanks for the welcome it's going to be lovely reading everything and getting to know you all

if you can get the process going now in the UK it is quicker than it being done in NZ, as I said we just had ours transferred over once the decision was made. have you filled in the points calculator, https://www.immigration.govt.nz/pointsindicator/
and if so what points do you end up with?
have you looked at a work to residency visa ?

Yes he's got 115 points they want my OH over asap but starting the EOI over here and then transferring it may be a better option iv not looked into the work to residency visa il have a look at that so did you go over with ur OH or wait till you got residency

is that 115 with the job offer? if so then he won't get pulled from the pool so you would have to for work to residency.

hubby came over on a look around, was supposed to return after having been all over the NI for nearly a month, got offered a job in the first week, got temp visa same day and started work in the second week, so never got to look around, that was in the month of Sept. EOI pulled in October. Myself and the kids came over the following January on visitors visa as we needed to return anyway to the UK in the June for a family celebration and we got PR in the Feb.

Re: Temp working visa or residency visa ?

Oh right this is what was told
As of the 4th of March 2015 the recent selection criteria were in descending order
•EOI's that scored 140 or more points
• EOI's that scored a total of 100 points or more include point for an offer of skilled employment
So what does that mean ?

Re: Temp working visa or residency visa ?

you are correct just checked, well thats a surprise. mind you haven't been checking the lists for a while.
as long as the job offer meets the criteria then yes does look like you should get pulled and be successful.

hubby had to get his job offer rewritten three times before the CO would accept it.
