Default Stuck and confused! please help me out n explain

Hi there
My situation is that my husband has a 4 yr bachelors degree in electronics engineering from pakistan and a 2 yrs masters degree in information systems and technology from UK.
He has got overall 9 yrs of experience all in IT out which 6 yrs as a systems administrator, network security specialist in UK while 3 yrs as a database administrator in Pakistan.
He hasnt got his qualifications assesed by NZQA.
whereas I have got 2 yrs Bechelors of science degree from Pakistan and a 2 yrs Masters degree in economics from Pakistan aswell with no experience at all.

My husband applied for EOI claiming 140 points but he was refused and his points were reduced to 95 without the qualifications assessed.as they said that they required bachelors in IT while he was masters in IT.

Where do I stand now.I know that we have done some mistake somewhere as we r not able to understand the exact tricks for claiming points neither we understand how does the nzis work.
I am deep sure that we qualify but do we need nzqa assessment for level 7 or level 8 to claim points??

Am totally unable to understand the system.please guide me step by step that what do i need to do..
Thanks alot ppl for helping

I´ve never heard of a two year masters degree....normally they are an additional year on top of the batcheors degree so total of 4 IIRC

Hi,

I think your husband's work experience must be in a company which has multi national branch locations listed in the countries in the immigration NZ website otherwise the experience won't be counted.

If you manage to get a job offer it will help your case greatly.

Good luck!

As per the Immigration NZ website:

If you do not have a skilled job or job offer, any work experience you claim points for must have been in a comparable labour market.
More info here: http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...experience.htm

sweethina you have to check at the bottom of the page in the link I sent you.

As per the immigration NZ page:

If you do not have a skilled job or job offer, any work experience you claim points for must have been in a comparable labour market.

Points may also be awarded for work experience in countries that are not considered to be a 'comparable labour market' providing you were working:

* for a multinational commercial entity domiciled in one of these listed countries, or
* in an area of absolute skill shortage.
If your OH's jobs don't fall in any of these categories you can't claim points for them. In that case a job offer would help. Try to get everything sorted before the 25th because there will be policy changes after that which will make things even more difficult.

I remember we were able to claim points for my OH's job because it is with a multinational company (with international branches) and it was listed in NZIS's list of accepted companies.

Good luck!
