Spousal Permanent Residency Timeline

I thought that this might be useful.

5 April 19 - submitted my application
23 April - first email from my immigration officer with request for a couple of missing docs (husband picked up an old version on INZ1178 online so beware!)
28 June - email informing me that a decsion had been made and was being cross checked.
1 July - I emailed to inform them I had lost my passport and recieved an immediate reply telling me to let them know as soon as my new passport was scanned and they would apply my visa to it so I assume the decision had been made by then.
22 July - emailed to inform them I had scanned
23 July - approval of my residency

Other than the loss of my passport, the longest delay was caused by my husband's NZ police check which I think took 6-7 weeks as I was emailing for updates during May and June.

I will say that they were very helpful and responsive throughout the whole process and every time I emailed, I would receive a response the following day. And they were very reassurng about me recieving my visa before our move date at the end of September - I never felt stressed, despite leaving my application until quite late in the day
