sponsoring parents
Does anyone who has had experience of sponsoring parents know if the centre of gravity rule for children applies to non-dependent adult step-children from a previous marriage who never lived with my parent? Should they be declared? Complicated !!! Thanks

Re: sponsoring patents
To be clear.
Do you mean that one of your parents has children from a previous marriage who live in the UK. Dependant or independent. Or do you mean that youer parents was previously married to a person who had kids by another partner but that those kids never lived with your parent and the partner of the time. In other words, not blood relatives. |
Re: sponsoring parents
From the NZIS website
F4.5.20 Definition of 'centre of gravity'

:DYes that's what i mean, and they have now been divorced for 15 years anyway.Thanks. |
Re: sponsoring parents
If they are not blood related children of either of your parents , then they are of another family and parents entirely and do not come into the equation. Unless of course they were legally adopted by the step-parent. Then that might be another matter.
