Default Son's heart surgery, will it affect our chances of being allowed entry to NZ?

Hi all..
We are seriously considering emigration but are unsure whether it's going to be possible to gain entry due to my son's heart defect.
He's had corrective surgery june 08 and is in full health at the moment, however it is quite possible he'll need a new valve when he's a young man (he's 11 now).
My line of work is on long term skills shortage list, and i'm pretty sure we meet all other criteria.

any experiences would be massively appreciated
thanks in advance!!
