Can any one explain the difference between absolute skills shortage and immediate skills shortage?

Absolute skills shortage refers to the Long Term Skills shortage list only when filling out an EOI.
Immediate skills shortage is the other list, the Immediate Skills shortage list
. If your job is on this list it means that you can apply for a temp work permit and an employer can offer you a job without having to prove no kiwi is available. You cannot gain any extra points on an EOI for being in shortage though.

Hi Persephone,
My job (Primary School Teacher) is on the Immeadiate Skills Shortage list - is there any age limit for this or is it 55 like the visa? I've only got 95 points too - how does the work permit work, could I apply for residency eventually?
Thanks
Mary
