Default September 07 EOIs

Hi, has anyone who had their EOIs selected in September received their ITA yet?

Was selected beginning of Sept. And have recieved ITA. I heard rumour (prob this site) that they do more of the checking upfront causing some delay.

Worth giving them a ring - though without the ITA it will be the £1 per minute line or to avoid this send a fax or an email to them. I sat through the £1 per minute to be told to fax my details/question as a Case Officer hadn't been assigned yet.

If it helps, our ITA was submitted but still no residency !?! ITA sat in someones in-tray for weeks and I've had to get a work visa.

You should have received it by now! They might not have rushed if you don't have a job lined up! But other than that I can't see why you haven't got it. Give them a ring or email them.

Yes. I was told this , following a conversation with an NZIS officer.

NZIS have slightly altered their checking procedures . The EOI preliminary checks are now more involved and are managed by a central office. Therefore the EOI checks are taking that bit longer.
Once those checks have been completed , the EOI is passed to a case officer who issues the ITA.
The aim is that completed, returned ITAs will have a quicker turn round time.

So I was told anyway.......

Thanks all, will try emailing them. We have a case officer - found this out when we tried to get family members removed from the EOI, long story that some of you will remember (it still hasn't been done!).

Is that still going on? Hope you're not getting too much stick from certain members of your family. Honestly, they wanna get a life if you are.

I remember your story. Something about a family member wanting their name taken off the EOI because somehow they construed it as giving blessing to your move or some nonsense. How has that worked out?

Hi, after receiving an aggressive (in my opinion) email from b-in-law I sent contrite apologies, with fingers crossed behind back. Not spoken to him since and when met with sister it wasn't mentioned, it was at a family funeral so not a good place to have a row. NZIS haven't confirmed they've actioned my request, not surprised as it can't take priority. No-one said this would be easy! But I'm glad I's still speaking to my sister, can live without b-in-law, though it will make visiting them hard!

I'm glad you can speak with your sister. Hopefully this rift will heal between you both.

What a very odd thing to get all upset about! It's not like you're forcing them into emigrating or anything daft like that...

Default September 07 EOIs - Bad news

No we weren't!

Anyway we had an email today from NZIS telling us they wouldn't be inviting us to apply and that OH application of 125 had been knocked down to 45 points! They didn't like the qual he'd put down or his work experience. He's had over 15 years experience as a gas fitter and manager and did an apprenticeship with BG and part 1 and 2 of a relevant qual. We think we must either have misunderstood completion of the form or have to get his qualification recognised by the NZ qual people.

Having to do some serious soul searching now as we were having doubts before Xmas after a family illness and I do feel that if there are any doubts then we're not 100% committed and we might need committing if we go ahead. Big talks and going through the EOI form and notes this weekend.

Sorry to hear things are not going to plan at the mo

You are absolutely doing the right thing though by questioning NOW if you making the right choice for you & your family.

As for your EOI, feel free to use and abuse this site to assist in your checking of your points; sometimes it helps to have a second opinion.

Good luck for what sounds like a crucial weekend and I truly hope it works out for you, whatever you choose

Sarah
