Default Seems like a long way away...

It may seem premature but living by the cub scout motto - always be prepared- it doesn't seem to early to ask...

We are due to move to NZ soon on AU PR - i have the following questions...

Does AU PR count towards my ability to sponsor my parents to come to NZ on the family visa or do i need my NZ PR first??

Assuming all is good can my parents apply after say 2 years to save time if there review will take 18 months??

If they get accepted can my parents work on a Family PR visa - they would probably want to do some unskilled part time work to get them out of the house?

Thanks in advance

Sean

HHmm. Reading the NZIS website, I'd say no but hopefully someone will come along that knows exactly. Otherwise contact NZIS direct

from HERE

Part that makes me think no is in bold.

sponsor must:
  • be 18 years of age or over
  • be in New Zealand
  • be a New Zealand or Australian citizen or the holder of a current residence permit that is not subject to requirements under section 18A of the Immigration Act 1987 or the holder of a residence class visa that is not subject to requirements under section 49(1) of the Immigration Act 2009 have been a New Zealand or Australian citizen and/or the holder of a residence permit or a residence class visa or a returning resident’s visa for at least three years immediately before the date their registration is received by Immigration New Zealand
  • in each of the three 12-month portions within that three-year period, have spent a total of 184 days or more in New Zealand.

Cheers mate but I would like to see it clarified further. This is your kith and kin after all.
