Residence from work or PR??

Hi,

We have been in NZ for just over 18months now on a WTR visa (accredited employer) and are looking at our options for residency.

We can either apply for residence from work once we have been here 2 years or we can go via the SMC now.

Which would people suggest we do??

I don't fully understand the residence from work visa - is this PR or would we have to apply for PR later on? And would my OH still have to work for the same accredited employer if we got that visa? :confused:

Any advice would be really appreciated!

WTR or residence from work. You would apply for and be given Permanent Residency. Once you have that you are free to work for who you like as you would be NZ Permanent Residents.

Thanks Bev! Looks like we will just sit tight until 2 years has passed now and then apply for residence to work. :)
