Requirements for Skilled Migration Category
 

Hey guys.

I am after a little bit of clarity and was hoping somebody with experience may be able to help.

Looking at the Long Term Skill Shortage List, I am confused about the requirements for the occupation I would be applying under. Here is the description...

"Bachelor degree (Level 7) specialising in Information Technology (Computer Science, Information Systems or other Information Technology) OR Bachelor degree (Level 7) specialising in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Technology AND a minimum of three years’ relevant post- qualification work experience."

To me, that reads as-
"If you have a Bachelors specialising in IT, no post-qualification work experience is required."
"If you have a Bachelors specialising in Engineering, you need 3 years post-qualification experience."

However I think it means 3 years post-qualification experience in either case. Can somebody please clarify?

Definitely could be read either way. However I would take it to mean you need 3 years of work experience for either specialisation. That's how I would read it on looking at the LTSSL requirements and the way in which they are written.

However I am not in IT, there are others on here who are who will hopefully come along and confirm it.

I agree and asked hubby what he thought and he said as it said AND it feels that would be for both

Looking at this how it's written on here, it does lack some punctuation:

Looking at other occupations, it appears that they mean the optional part is only a choice of one OR other of the degrees AND then the work experience applies to both.

Reading further down it does say:


'Note 2: Where work experience is included as a requirement it applies to all qualifications listed for the occupation (unless otherwise

indicated).'
