I will be applying from the US under skilled migrant category, No job offer, No relatives in NZ, and Never been to NZ.

After reading many posts here, I learned that it is taking about 12 months for the whole process (EOI submission to PR decision) for those who applied from the UK with NO job offer.

I also learned that after PR decision, I have 6 months to send the passport for the PR sticker and 12 months to activate the PR.

My question is, when does 12-month activation period start? From the PR decision date or from the PR sticker received date?

I guess I have to be in NZ to activate my PR, how long do I have to be there to activate my PR? Once I activated my PR, do I have to stay in NZ permanently or do I get some more time to go out of the country, so I will have enough time to sell my property and move back to NZ.
