Regarding residency in nz being thalassemia major

Hi all
I am 36yrs thalassemia major from India perfectly doing well with health working here in medical profession, did graduation in medical laboratory and post graduation in clinical microbiology. I have a query that can I apply for work visa in newzealand and will I be getting any medical insurance to cover my blood transfusion and chelation therapy. As this thalassemia major comes under the appendix 10 of ops manual which require a medical waiver. How I can get medical waiver and can I get work visa for newzealand if I clear all the exams required to get work visa there in newzealand.

no one on here can tell you if you can get a visa or a job for that matter. you would have to apply and see what happens, any medical condition is treated on a case by case account and it would be down to the medical assessor to determine if you are eligible or not. I also don't think you will get medical insurance with this preexisiting condition to pay for the regular treatments. How have you coped since being in NZ?

If not then you need to prepare a written statement and medical evidence that it is better for NZ to have you here than not have you here and the assessor may require further tests to be done at your own cost.
