reference from former employer
Hi I am wondering how important is the wording in a work reference for a visa. I have feeling this may cause issues due to my job name they have put in my reference letter.
I am intending to apply for a work shortage visa as a site manager. My former employer has named me as an assistant sector manager when writing the reference for me. I worked on site as a site manager for about 6 years for this company, starting as a graduate site manager and I am thinking the department will not permit the reference due to the title. Do I need to get this sorted out or should I hope for the best. The company did have to look up the archive, and I wouldn't know anyone left in the company now to contact them directly. I am waiting for a job offer, the company said they would be contacting my references but trying to get the paperwork in order before I have to start the process officially. |
Re: reference from former employer
do you have your contract for that position?
if it states Manager then ask them to amend it, if it states Assistant Manager then can't see they will have to change it but no harm in asking |
Re: reference from former employer
Get it changed to Manager.

Re: reference from former employer
Thank you very much for replying, if I am dubious already I am so sure the immigration people will be as well. I have moved house so often I tend to throw things out which I am regretting now! Will contact the company to see if they can assist me. If it is a stop at least I know now.
thanks for your help |
