Queries About some options in EOI

2 Attachment(s)
Dear Senior Members/Experts,

My total point is 120

-Age: 30.5 years - 25 points
-Qualification: B.Sc. Computer Science from Bangalore University,India (3 years degree) - 50 Points (as in level 7 in NZQF)
-Bonus Points for recognized Qualifications in an absolute area of skill shortage - 10 Points
-6.5 years IT work Experience - 20 Points
-Bonus Points for recognized work Experience in an area of absolute skill shortage - 15 Points

Now, I am going to submit EOI Online within 2 days. Please guide me to make some decisions on the following issues.

English Language Ability:

My medium of Education (B.Sc.) was in English. But right now I do not have any letter from University mentioning that the medium of Education is English and I am good at English. It could help me to select the following option in the EOI Form.

* Study for a Recognized qualification conducted Entirely in English

On the other hand, I have IELTS Band Score Overall 6.0 which will be expired in Dec'2011 . If I declare IELTS in EOI then I have to have overall 6.5.

Now, is it possible to select the above Bold Option If I show later my B.Sc. Certificate, Transcript and other Documents in support of that?

Or, I have to select -

* None of the Above Option

I also attached the screen print for your convenience.

What can I do now in this section while filling up EOI Form?

Principal Applicant's Recognized Work Experience:

In this section, I am confused about option G4 . It is mentioned below.

"Please indicate the total number of years of work experience in an identified future growth area. You need to note that work experience in an identified future growth area only qualifies for bonus points if you are also claiming points for current skilled employment or an offer of skilled employment in an identified future growth area."

Here what they meant " Current Skill Employment" ? My local current skill employment or Current Skill Employment at New Zealand?
(I do not have any offer letter or current skill employment in NZ)

( Screen Print is attached)

What should I do in this option?

Please advice me.

Thanks and regards

Shooter

My take on this would be that it is your current skilled employment. You will need to prove it meets the criteria of course.

Bhatt,

I already submitted Online EOI on 21-07-2011.

I read your post in "BONUS POINT REJECTED" thread. My little analysis is here for your case.

In the section F12 in EOI Online Form it is mentioned that -

------
F12. Are you claiming points for a qualification in one of the areas of absolute skills shortage? ( I think you selected it "Yes")

PLEASE NOTE: You cannot claim these bonus points unless:

* you have a qualification relevant to your occupation as specified in column four of the Long Term Skill Shortage List; or

* you have skilled employment in New Zealand in an area of absolute skills shortage and the specialist, technical or managerial expertise required for that employment was obtained through the completion of this qualification.

If yes, please provide the absolute skills shortage occupation name, and select the name of the qualification.

( The Occupation will be IT and Course will be B.Sc. Computer Science from the dropdown list)

Information Technology (IT) Professionals: ICT Professionals
B.Sc. Computer Science

------

As per my understanding, in the section of Recognized Qualifications, you filled up F2a. and F2b for your B.Sc. Computer Science and also Masters in Computer Application (MCA).

Now, in the bold option of the later part (F12.), what did you select from the drop down list - B.Sc. Computer Science or MCA?

If MCA, then as per my understanding it does not claim points as per the LTSSL requirement. Selecting the B.Sc. Computer Science could be wise for claiming points.

If you do not mind, can tell us from which university you studied in B.Sc. Computer Science and MCA?

I think senior members can share their idea and logic on this.

Re: Queries About some options in EOI

Bhatt,

Sorry. I got your university name and the year you obtained your degree.

It seems that, NZ immigration authority assesses the NZQF Level as per the their mentioned information (such as degree awarded effective from the year ....) in the Qualification exemption list.

Now, I am bit confused. What will be in my case?

My course (B.Sc. Computer Science) started in the year 2000 and ended in the year 2003. It is 3 years course of Bangalore University.

So, as per the exemption list, as Bangalore University's degree award is recognized from the year 2001, then I think my NZQF level is 7.

What do you think about it? Please share your idea.
