processing time London Branch
 

Hi,
Does anyone know what the processing times are for skilled migrants with a job offer at the London Branch? The NZIS - London Branch website say they check your EOI in ten work days. When I called them in London they said it was 3 weeks to 3 months :confused:

hi, we applied for pr mid jan 05 and was granted a visa end of april 05, that was without a job offer and the hold up time was having to wait for medicals. advice, once eoi have been accepted then book chest xray and medical before the paper forms come back. we are moving out in aug and cant wait. good luck with the application.

I have a friend in the same situation as you, her EOI was drawn out a little while ago and is still waiting to hear from them :confused:

Processing times have increased a lot since the new medicals were implemented in November and the break for Christmas has made it worse. It does mention 3 weeks to 3 months on the London Branch processing times webpage, maybe they're speaking about the ITA processing time?

Hi

We didn't have aconfirmed job when our EOI was selected, we received ITAjust about 4 weeks later. The website does say that with a job offer this is quicker.

Once you return ITA with a job offer, priority is given but web page does say 'upto 4 months'

We are about to return our completed ITA, now with a job offer, so I will let you know.

Hi,
Thanks a lot for all your replies. First phone call to London Branch was standard answer from a call center. After second phone call and more probing they told us our EOI had been successful (within the 10 work days specified) and that we would be receiving an ITA. :) Next week we're getting our medicals so hopefully everything can be sent off soon.

Regarding medicals, I have a history of depression and my records also mention things I did when I was a little younger that wouldn't look that good.

Do they take much notice of that or will it possibly make our application harder ? Taking in to account that the depression isn't helped by living where I desperately want to get out of (being the town/area, not the uk in general, tho we do !)

Im having a lot of hassle with them at the moment re stress/depression, my advice would be to have all the info from a specialist available even if you havent seen one in the past.

their interest in medical conditions (physical and psychiatric) is whether you will be a "drain" on their hospital / medicinal resources.
If you are well now and have been for some time then it is unlikely to bother them to much
If you are maintained on medication only then they will probably take some advice as to whether this is likely to remain that way or whether you may require other services in the future (which will depend on the nature of your depression)
If you are needing regular support from mental health services then they may be reluctant to consider you
