Probation/Parole Officer - Can We apply?
 

Hi

I am currently investigating weather it would be possible for myself and my partner to emigrate to NZ from the UK

My Partner is a trained probation officer in the UK and has worked in this role for the last 6 years - She has 2 Degrees and has counselling qualifications.

I have checked the absolute skills shortage list and probation/parole does not seem to be listed on there.

Would she still be able to apply on the skilled migrant visa and do you have to have a job offer in order to get your visa ?

Also - is anyone aware of any Job agencies that deal with employing foreign workers ?

Sorry cant really answer your question as am going down the family category just wanted to say Hi & welcome. I see you are also looking at Australia & Canada are you still undecided where you may go?

All I can suggest is you look here www.immigration.govt.nz for some answers and look through previous threads on here using the search button.

We are looking at canada,Aus, and NZ.

It appears the Canada is going to be diffiuclt with getting a job first, but Australia should be ok and i am still looking through the information on NZ.

Probation is not on the Long Term Skill Shortage List (LTSSL) and the Immediate Skill Shortage List, so how much more difficult does it make the whole process - Will we have to look at getting a work permit (Job offer).
