Police Checks - Italy

Hello
I have just joined. It has been great to read that folks are sharing their info.
We have started the process of immigration.
1.I found out today that we need police checks from Italy - we were posted there by UK military.
Has anyone undertaken an Italian police check?....I just know it is going to take forever, if ever.
2.Jobs Iam a nurse and my OH project manager( about to retire from Brit. military). We are both seeking jobs.
Any hints most welcome
Thank you

Re: Police Checks - Italy

Yep. I lived in Como for a few years and had to get a police certificate for it. Some of the commune have websites where you can do it all on line. Como didn't so they told me I had to do it directly at a "procura" - any procura but basically I had to either go there in person or send in someone with a permission letter from me. I honestly don't think they had a clue what the real procedure was.
Luckily my parents live in Italy and I visit them frequently so I did it myself. It took about 5 minutes and cost about 13 euros.

I would call the embassy in London for advise or else ring up a very big commune - try Milano?

Hi. Thanks - :)
I have a chum in Naples who may be to go along for me and that would be a great help. Good to know you got yours.
