Default Police Check Forms

Just taken the Met police check forms to my local police station and was told that they are the wrong ones and that the cheques need to be made payable to Essex Police.

The front desk officer has given us some other forms now but, and worried we are going to be sending the wrong forms and have to wait another 40 days if they are incorrect.

They have given us different forms and told us that any police station can do a PCN check and we have to make our cheques payable to Essex Police.

I actually have just checked a thread and the form that was included in an answer IS the original one we used!

Confused now! Please help.

Thanks

Debi

Hi,

We live in Herts and I downloaded the Subject Access forms from their (Herts constabulary) website, filled it in and posted it to the address on the form. As per their instructions, the cheques were made payable to Herts too.

AFAIK the actual checks are done by Scotland Yard and they (eventually) send you the "police check" documents. Currently taking the full 40 days or so.

I received ours this morning (exactly 39 days) since sending our forms.

Hope it all goes well, good luck.

P.S. For Essex "subject access" see here;
