Points system
Could someone clarify how the points system works in practice? I get that you need to have 100 points, that 140 points qualifies immediately and that they"dip into" the pool every 2 weeks.
How does it really work thereafter? If you don't tick any of the skills shortage boxes are you ever going to get selected? If so, what is a normal point score for selection?

Re: Points system
the only way you are going to get selected is by having adding points for a required skill which could lead to selection under the 140 requirement or a job offer that ups the points over the 140. If you are not on skills list there is limited chance of getting a job offer that would lead to a visa I'm afraid but not impossible. you would need a job offer from an accredited company. or you could apply for a working holiday visa if you are under 30.
