Permanet Residence at last!!
Got an email yesterday saying that I have been accepted for permanet residence via the skilled migrant stream...yippy!! I came over after getting a job in IT on the interent and applied for a working visa in the UK in Nov 2007. Then in March I applied for residence and was accepted about 3.5 months after this (yesterday)!! I did have to have my medicals again as they expired when I was over here and then they sent my residence back to the UK for processing instead of doing it over here but all in all not a bad turn around. They kept me informed at all times so I knew what was going on. It does feel like a life time since I first had the idea but its well worth it.

Congratulations
OH is in IT as well and he's looked at a few jobs advertised in Auckland, although we wouldn't want to live there if we can help it, so not applied for any.... I think I remember North Shore being quite nice though
We don't have a family either... almost as good as single then
