Tell her to go for the General one, it is meant to be easier although not sure if that's true or just a rumour! I guess it's probably true, as the Academic one is meant for people who want to apply for a place at University, for which they WILL need a very good level of English, so the expectations will be higher.

I did the General one, wanted to be safe!
